Bama Bounders

Pop and I enjoyed a morning with Maddie at Bama Bounders in Tuscaloosa.  This is a wonderful outing for children 18 months to age 4. I think it is offered two mornings a week.  For $5.00, they can play, run, jump, climb, roll and simply have a great time!!  I highly recommend it!  Maddie loves it.  She attends Tumble Bus classes at home, so she really enjoys it!!

Doesn't this look like fun?

Lindsey spent most of her childhood on her head like this!  I wish I had a dime for everytime she said, "Count and see how long I can stay up?"

So much fun!!!

A Day in the Life

Life as a princess is tough work!  Make no mistake about it - Maddie takes this princess stuff seriously these days.  According to her, Princesses don't take naps, can eat ice cream whenever they want to, and can stay up as late as they want!  She had two perfect guests the other day that attempted to make all of her Princess dreams come true!!

First, they enjoyed playing in the pool!

Next, when they came inside Maddie was treated to a pedicure and had her hair fixed!  She was in princess heaven!!

Thanks Girls!!

Airplanes and Buckets

Uncle C spent an afternoon with us while Maddie was here, and they had a ball together! Maybe it's their ages - 3 and 23!

It's a bird- It's a plane -It's a PRINCESS!! She has just about worn this dress out!!

Pop got in on the fun and became the entertaining Mr. Buckethead!

I'm not sure how many times Maddie dumped water on Uncle C's head!  He was quite the sport!

Maddie loves going down the slide, but she has some very specific instructions that she makes sure you know everytime she goes down - It goes like this, "Reindeers and Cows and don't let me go under!"  Not sure where the reindeers and cows come from, but it's awfully cute to hear!

Nothing special- but lots of fun!!

Park Time!

(Sometimes I will sit down and do 4 or 5 blogs at a time.  Later I will look back and realize I didn't post all of them.  This is one of those blogs!  This should have been posted about 4 weeks ago.  OOPS!)

Maddie and I enjoy visiting the park whenever possible.  I have pictures to prove that I actually go down the slides and climb up and down on all the things.  Only for my sweet girl would I do such things!! I love our time together!

Yep!  Those are my sandals coming down the slide!!

So much fun!

And just a peek at our sweet new addition!

Friends, Fun, and Fish

Stacy, Baby Jim and I recently enjoyed a wonderful afternoon floating with Marnetta at their river house.  I might add that Jim actually enjoyed quite a long afternoon nap while we floated.  Baby monitors are the best invention ever!  After a great afternoon spent solving all of the world's problems, a storm rolled in so we ventured up to the house.  Larry, Becky and Reed joined us later for a delicious fish supper!  The other Tim was out of town and couldn't make it.  Life is so much more fun when you have great friends to enjoy it with!

Sasa getting Jim to sleep

It's a toss up between Marnetta and Caleb as to who gives me the most interesting looks when I take a picture!

Isn't he precious!!

I have seen countless barges on the river over the years, but it's a sight that I still love!

Our view while floating!

Sweet Friends!

This is the storm I mentioned!

Reed arrives and joins in the fun!

Our cook resting up before he heads down to cook our delicious supper!

Charli and Jamie returned from Atlanta and picked up Jim........

Jonathan is resting up from......Well, I'm not actually sure what he's resting from!
But he sure looks comfortable!

God Bless America

I have always enjoyed our 4h of July celebrations!  We started hosting this event a few years ago, and we really enjoy having the family over.  Reed works really hard around the yard and cooking, but I think he enjoys it too!  Everyone was not able to come this year, and if you didn't make it we missed you!

The yard and pool are all ready for the day!  E-Z up is up, tables set, decorations ready!

And well, Maybelle REFUSED to be put in the bathroom with Gus!  She hid under the table so we couldn't find her.........

All I can say is yummy!!

The kids had a ball swimming!  Reed even got in a little bit before everyone got there!

Waiting on those ribs to get ready!!

Let me interpret Reed's picture for you-"If I smile, will you take the picture and go away?"

Time to eat!

We can't wait until next year!!

Happy Birthday Precious!

Caleb's birthday is actually not until Friday, but he is flying to Texas early in the morning for a few days.  This will be the first time in 23 years that we will not spend at least part of his birthday with him!  It's hard to believe that our baby is now grown!!  Anyway, we have celebrated off and on all week since we knew he wouldn't be here! He got to spend a lot of time with his friends and family before he left, so even though he won't be here, we hope his day will be great!

Opening his tailgating gift from Lindsey earlier in the week - (And on a side note the beard is now gone!)

Enjoying his cake at the family 4th celebration with a little special help from Cade!

Happy Birthday - Enjoy your trip-We love you bunches!!
